HONEY FOR GUT HEALTH

The Helicobacter pylori bacterium, often shortened to H pylori, colonizes the human digestives system and is linked to stomach pain that may be worse when your stomach is empty. Symptoms can include nausea, a loss of appetite, and frequent burping. You may also experience bloating and weight loss and in more extreme cases ulcers. Certain heart conditions are also attributed to H. pylori.

In 2006 researchers in Oman found that samples of their local honey we’re effective at reducing the incidence of the bacterium (as an additional boost to antibiotics) . Efficacy appears to differ between different samples of raw honey in their tests, so if you are being treated for this infection, it may be worth experimenting with different local honey types?
