Why are we the “The Quarry Field Bees”? Well, that’s easy to explain. Our Quarry Field Apiary is a favourite place. It’s a bluebell strewn copse, on farmland near our local market town. There our bees thrive and, in Spring and Summer, a contented buzz fills the air. When you’re working in the Quarry Field, all is right with the world. So, when we were contemplating a name that embodied the virtues of our delicious honey, Gwenyn Maes Chwarel, proudly and in Welsh, was the obvious choice (as were the bluebells that you’ll see on our logo).
To provide you with “Gold from the Quarry”, we make no compromises. Only surplus honey ever gets harvested, leaving our hives with plenty for the cold days of Winter. When we come to extract and jar, we apply modern standards but patient time served methods. Unlike those inferior Supermarket alternatives that you may have tried and discounted, we don’t mix or cut corners. We do not use heat or micro-filtering instead we retain all aspects of our honey’s local authenticity.
