A visit to a Gwenyn Maes Chwarel by the National Bee Unit as part of a regular process of inspection of our registered hives.
Hello,
Welcome to The Quarry Bees website. My name is Dave Whiteley, and I look after a small number of beehives, in our own sustainable rural apiaries, in peaceful Carmarthenshire. What started for me as a hobby in 2014, now takes up more of my time every year. We very proudly produce honey and beeswax products, but these are still really a side-line to the joy of spending time with the bees (and sharing in their wonderfully complex lives).
We treat the honey that our bees gift to us with very great care indeed, and we think that you’ll notice the difference. As you’d expect, Gwenyn Maes Chwarel honey is wholly natural, unpasteurised and still contains traces of pollen. Put another way, it’s a raw serving of hundreds of bio-active ingredients that are evidenced to be good for body and soul and be quite delicious on your table. Honey, as I’m sure that you know, alters in significant and subtle ways depending on the different terrains that the hives call home. We have verdant grassland in West Wales, with thick hedges and woodland. Analysis says that our bees forage widely across the active seasons, and gorge themselves on the flowering bramble of late Summer.
Beekeeping is a sacred trust, so a thought. If you are concerned about animal husbandry, then be reassured that we treat our bees with the utmost compassion and care all year round. If you have ANY questions about our practices or products or just want to say hello, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. (See the Contact page).
Maybe also spare us a Like on Social Media? (The links are on the top of this page). We’ll try to be informative.
Very Best Wishes
